Recreational Therapeutic Riding
Therapeutic Horseback riding helps with more issues
that you might think. Horseback riding is the great
equalizer among riders. Our kids shine bright and
accomplish great things!
We see improvement in our riders’ overall well-being and
enjoyment of life, with gains across their spectrum of health,
including areas such as: mental, physical, social, and emotional
benefits.
Participants
This program is for regular education riders (able
bodied/minded). A parent/guardian can submit the
medical/health information form indicating diagnoses or
conditions. A Rx to ride is not required for most conditions
accepted into the -recreational therapeutic riding program- but
is required for consideration of any available tuition
scholarships - which would provide tuition assistance, when
available.
Considerations for Enrollment
Riders must be in regular classroom settings at school, they
may have a 504 plan or a physical, emotional, social, or
cognitive condition or disability for which, a health care
provider would recommend horseback riding.
This is a regular group program with accommodations made for
each riders individual learning style or need.
Riders must be evaluated for program acceptance, in terms of
suitability of placement for safety.
These riders do not require volunteers to participate in the
program and must be able to ride independently without
assistance and must be able to safely follow instructions.
